What readers are saying about the Terrestria Chronicles…
I was very excited
to have a chance to read and review this series of Christian allegory
fiction. I am always looking to share with my kids good books...
They have deepened my love for my
Savior... [They] have
inflamed my love and zeal for the Lord
My family has been reading the Terrestria Chronicles together as
a family. We have family devotions each morning but in the
evening after the supper meal, the children know that they need
to clear the table quickly so they can sit and listen to the me
read the book to the family. We are now on book 4. The
children love the Terrestria books! I love the books! They are
great. I am purchasing a few more sets with the study guide to
be able to give to some of our church families.
Just prior to receiving the books I met with a family in our
church. They asked me if I read any fiction. I told them I did
not and that all my reading was with the purpose of study. The
lady said that she loved reading fiction because it broadened
her thinking and helped to give her insight that she might not
have gathered from her own thoughts. I must admit that, to
myself, I thought she was wrong. It was shortly thereafter that
I received your books and began reading them to my family. I
believe every Christian should read these books. They
have deepened my love for my Saviour. Although the
books are fiction the analogies they hold have inflamed
my love and zeal for the Lord. These books keep you on
the edge of your seat with excitement and anticipation. You find
yourself saddened when Josiah goes the wrong way and feel
excited when he gets right with the King. These books typify
the Christian life and the struggles that are faced. With every
trial there is truth to be learned on how to overcome. These
books are not just for children but even the seasoned Christian
should read and reread these books to keep their love
and devotion to the Lord fresh. I wholeheartedly
recommend these books.

As a pastor for more than twenty-six
years, I understand the importance of providing good literature for our
families. It is for this reason that I enthusiastically recommend the
Terrestria Chronicles, written by Ed Dunlop.
This seven volume allegorical series
has been a source of great blessing to members of our church. Our
people love these books. My own family has devoured each volume. The character lessons and
biblical principles are obvious, powerful, and invaluable. Our church
families are using the Terrestria Chronicles as a tool for
reading and teaching spiritual principles to their children.
Some of our elementary children and
teens have completed the series and are now reading them for a second
time. Personally, I have never seen books that hold the attention of
readers like the Terrestria Chronicles. Speaking for our church,
I must say that we are grateful that God has provided such a valuable
resource to assist in the spiritual growth of our families.

"The boys always beg me to read 'just one more' chapter..."
We have all
thoroughly enjoyed the Terrestria series. I've likened them to the
Chronicles of Narnia meets Pilgrim's Progress. The boys always beg
me to read "just one more" chapter... regardless of how many I've
already read that evening.

I recently heard about this series of books called the Terrestria
Chronicles. They are medieval, castle, knight-themed books, so I
thought my oldest son might be interested. He read the whole 7 book
set in 3 days!! My husband, a medical doctor, decided to read one to
see what all the fuss was about and was very impressed and went on
to read the whole series.
So, now, I'm curious. I read the first, then the next, and just
finished the series. I have to say, that these books rank as one of
the top 10 books I've read in all time (and I'm a bibliophile)!!! I
strongly urge you to do what you can to get a set of these....get
some contact paper cause they will get read...in fact...after
today's reading, I'd say, that these books have changed my life. I
want to be just like Prince Josiah as he serves King Emmanuel with
all his heart.
You will NOT be sorry! Other than the Bible, I can't think
of greater books to have your children reading! We
are big fans of Pilgrim's Progress, but our family all agrees that
the Terrestria Chronicles are so much more helpful for building up
our faith and strengthening our walk with the Lord.
This series has set a new standard in our family.
Before buying
a book, I think, "Does this have as much eternal value as the
Terrestria Chronicles?"

One of my fifth-grade super readers came in this morning and told me
that she had read the entire Terrestria series in just five days.
When I asked how she liked the books, she replied, “They’re awesome!
I couldn’t put them down!”
The kids in our school are all eagerly reading the books and I am
praying that lives will be changed. THANK YOU for making these
available to our families.

We at Lifeway
Baptist Church want to thank you for writing The Sword, the Ring
and the Parchment. Every Wednesday, I use your book for our
story time. Now, when Pastor Tony announces that it is story time,
the children clap and cheer! The other club leaders have also
commented that they can’t wait to hear what will happen next to
Josiah. Thank you for following the Lord’s leading to write the
Terrestria Chronicles. There are 65 first through sixth graders at
Lifeway who are glad you did.

"I ask God every day to help me be like Prince Josiah"
I just wanted

Josiah." I liked how those books applied to life.

"These books showed me that I had taken my salvation for granted..."
I have read
all seven books of your Terrestria series and I would have to say
that few books have helped as much as these have! My walk with the
Lord had been a little stagnant and "old" to be honest. Since these
were children's books, I thought that I would read them to my 9 year
old son. He liked fantasy style stuff so I would try to entertain
him a little. By the time we were in chapter 4 or 5 of the first
book, I was choking on my own tears. These books showed me that I
had taken my salvation for granted.
One night as
we finished our reading, my son said, “Dad, I know who the King is,
and I want him to adopt me, too.” He received Jesus as the result of
our reading the Terrestria books together!

"It
helps me apply truths to my own life..."
As
we have been reading your new series it has just been SO very good!
It's so interesting, and the kids might not realize it, but they are
getting so much doctrine right there! When I read the first book it
just made me realize how great it was when Jesus saved me, and saved
me from Satan. It was SO very good. There have been many things I
have really appreciated, so I can't even go into them all. It also
has made me realize even more what a blessing we have in our
petitions/prayers. When I'm reading about Josiah, it helps me apply
truths to my own life.

"The
Terrestria series has the power to change the hearts of, not only
children, but adults as well..."
The author possesses a
deep comprehension of Biblical principles, which he adeptly portrays
in his allegories. Because of its use of Scriptural truths and its
obvious inspiration, I believe the Terrestria series has the power
to change the hearts of, not only children, but adults as well.
Readers who are willing to make the application will clearly
understand the importance of seeking and fulfilling the will of God
for their lives.

Travel back to the days of
noble knights and powerful warlords... daring
quests and deadly dragons... the days of honor and valor and
chivalry.
As a Christian parent, your primary
objectives are to lead your own children to the Lord
and then train them to serve Him. Here’s an
action-packed allegory series that will help you in this
endeavor. Each book was prayerfully written to encourage
your young people to love their Lord and serve Him with all
their hearts. The Terrestria Chronicles have been
compared by many readers to The Pilgrim’s Progress,
though this series has more adventure and is more relevant
to today’s readers than Bunyan’s classic work.

Fast-paced action… powerful imagery…
heart-pounding adventure… These life-changing books are
captivating and once you start reading, you’ll find them
hard to put down. This adventure series has a particularly
strong appeal to today’s young people: it’s a series with
knights and castles, dragons and princesses. . . but these
are books in which every page points to truths of the
Christian walk. Biblical doctrines and character principles
are taught in such a compelling, fascinating way that they
will stay with the reader for a lifetime.
The Terrestria Chronicles allegory
series honors Jesus Christ as King, challenges young readers
to love and serve Him, and teaches them to guard their
hearts for Him. The focus of the series is always on the
King.
Written for ages ten and up, the
Terrestria series is ideal for family devotions, classroom
use or individual enjoyment. So grab your sword and take
your family on a quest to Terrestria! Your hearts will be
changed forever.
And then Josiah saw the
King. A tall, commanding figure arrayed in an elegant
scarlet robe, the King had eyes that burned like fire, and
his smile radiated love and concern. Josiah gazed in wonder
at the King’s countenance. Never before had he seen such a
kind face.
Josiah stole a glance at
Argamor, and to his amazement, saw that the cruel blacksmith
and his two henchmen were trembling. Who is this King?
Josiah wondered in astonishment. I wouldn’t have known
that Argamor was afraid of anyone!
“I have come for the lad,”
the King said quietly.
Book One – The Sword, the Ring and the Parchment
(187 pages)
Young Josiah is a slave to Argamor, the powerful
warlord who has plans to seize the throne from King Emmanuel.
When Josiah fails in his attempt to escape slavery, Emmanuel not
only sets him free forever, but adopts him into the Royal
Family. The book presents an unforgettable picture of our
salvation and reminds the reader what a wondrous thing it is to
be redeemed.
Alive with fast-paced action in a medieval setting, Book 1 of
the Terrestria allegory series encourages the reader to live as
a child of the King.
The glitter of steel in the ferns just beyond the rock caught
Prince Josiah’s attention. He leaped forward, snatching up the
precious sword and rolling to his feet in one motion. The
Serpent of Selfishness struck at that moment, but the young
prince was ready for him. As the enormous head flashed downward,
Josiah swung the mighty sword. Steel penetrated reptilian flesh.
Hissing angrily, the giant snake recoiled. The fearsome head
disappeared from sight behind a clump of trees.
Book Two – The Quest for Seven
Castles (195 pages)
When
King Emmanuel sends Prince Josiah on a difficult journey to
various castles across the kingdom, the young prince is
unprepared for the dangers and temptations that he will face. As
Josiah grows in the knowledge of his King and strives to become
like him, he learns the importance of following his Book and
listening for the voice of the Dove.
Book 2 of the delightful Terrestria allegory
series challenges the reader to examine his/her relationship
with the King.
The earth trembled and convulsed
as the three travelers scrambled back under their toadstool.
Their hearts pounded with fear. A huge boot suddenly crashed
down through the branches at the edge of the clearing. Black and
shiny with a huge silver buckle, the boot was more than twelve
feet tall!
The boot swept
upwards and disappeared from sight. Josiah leaned forward and
peered from beneath the toadstool. Through a gap in the trees he
saw a fearsome sight—a colossal, familiar face framed with red
hair and a curly red beard. “It’s th-the Giant of F-Fear!” he
stammered. “But now he’s ninety feet tall!”
Book Three – The Search for Everyman (159 pages)
Join Prince Josiah, Princess Gilda, and Prince
Selwyn in this third Terrestrian adventure. It’s a race against
time as they set out on a dangerous quest to deliver the King’s
pardon to Adam Everyman, a prisoner condemned to die. Argamor’s
evil forces are determined for their mission to end in failure.
Will the three young people overcome the obstacles, locate the
Dungeon of Condemnation, and deliver the royal pardon in time?
Book 3 of The Terrestria Chroniclesencourages the reader to be a witness for the King.
The young prince stared in
astonishment. The tall, slender white figure, so gossamer and
transparent that he could still see the rocks and trees behind
her, again had silently appeared just beyond the campfire. Her
pearl-white gown fluttered gently in the breeze. In her left
hand she held a single rose, a deep crimson blossom that glowed
with a light all its own. With her right hand she was slowly
plucking the petals and dropping them to the ground.
“Prince Josiah,” she whispered softly, and her voice
was the gentle sound of a summer breeze, “I have come to show
you the future. Your future. If your heart is open, my prince,
what you see tonight will change you forever.”
Book Four – The Crown of Kuros
(185 pages)
The Castle of
Faith is in an uproar when the priceless Crown of Kuros is stolen in
broad daylight from the castle keep. All evidence points to
Morphina who is in league with Argamor. Prince Josiah, Prince Selwyn,
and the other knights of the castle engage in a quest to find
the crown before it falls into the hands of Argamor. But Josiah
alone can recover the crown, and to do so he must engage in an
impossible battle.
This fourth
adventure, the very heart of the Terrestria allegory series,
will challenge the reader to surrender his heart to the King.
The tall peasant looked expectantly at his royal visitors.
Placing his hands upon the small brass chest, he paused for a
moment. “My lords and my lady,” he said solemnly, “behold our
most precious treasure!” As he slowly opened the lid, Josiah,
Selwyn, and Gilda leaned forward.
The chest was filled with straw. From deep within the straw a
strange light glowed and pulsated with intermittent hues of blue
and gold. The peasant reached inside and proudly lifted a
glowing object. “No one else in Terrestria possesses a treasure
such as this!”
The three young people stared in wonder. At last, the princess
spoke. “What—what is it?”
Book Five— The
Dragon’s Egg (199 pages)
When Princess Gilda and Prince Selwyn refuse
the offer of a gift forbidden by King Emmanuel, Prince Josiah
accepts, not realizing that his actions will impact the Castle
of Faith. For a time, the young prince is able to conceal his
act of treachery, and it seems that all is well. But when a Cararian Greatwing—the
fiercest of dragons—begins terrorizing the kingdom, Josiah
learns too late that he is powerless to control the beast that
he has unleashed upon Terrestria.
This fifth adventure in the Terrestria allegory series will
challenge the reader to guard his or her heart for the King.
At that moment, the
dark clouds above the battlefield parted in the middle and
rolled to the sides of the horizon as though someone had opened
the draperies at an enormous window. A brilliant beam of golden
light fell upon the assembled warriors.
Murmurs of terror rippled across the ranks of the dark
armies, for descending from the skies was an enormous white
warhorse, broad in chest and powerful in limb, and upon his back
was a warrior who would strike fear into the hearts of even the
bravest. His eyes were as flames of fire and upon his head was a
glittering golden crown. He was clothed in a vesture dipped in
blood; and upon his vesture and upon his thigh was a name
written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Reaching the base of the mountain, the huge figure turned,
raised his cape, and with a forceful gesture brought it swiftly
down. The mountain trembled. A white-hot bolt of lightning
slashed from the heavens and struck the ridge. Thunder
boomed. With a roaring cacophony of sound that made it seem as
if all of Terrestria were being destroyed, the mountain
collapsed upon itself, sliding downward with a thunderous roar
and forever sealing off the entrance to the cavern.
The figure smiled in satisfaction. “Sleep, my lovely ones,” he
cried. “Take your rest. One day you shall be awakened by
mortals, and then you shall do my bidding. Terrestria shall be
ours.”
Book Six— The Golden
Lamps (201 pages)
After an attack on a small Terrestrian village
by Argamor’s dark knights, the villagers petition King Emmanuel
to build them a castle for protection. Emmanuel responds by
sending James of Arwyn, a master builder who will guide the
villagers in the construction of their own castle. All goes well
until the workers discover mysterious golden lamps. The lamps
have an unusual purpose, and that purpose may spell doom for the
castle project.
This sixth
adventure will cause the reader to realize that the King’s
business must always be
priority.
Book Seven– The Great War
(201 pages)
Throughout the eons of time, the kingdom of
Terrestria has been at war. Argamor and his dark forces are
still determined to wrest control of the kingdom from the hands
of the wise and powerful King Emmanuel. Argamor’s evil plans
include Princess Gilda—her captivity is sure to result in the
defeat of Prince Josiah and the downfall of the Castle of Faith.
The Great War
gives a breathtaking overview of the Book of Revelation. In this
thrilling final episode of the Terrestria Chronicles, the reader
catches just a glimpse of the almighty power of King Emmanuel
and of the wondrous future that awaits his children in the
Golden City.
